Carley
Corporation Awarded Marine Corps
Information System Security Manager (ISSM) Course
April 04, 2002
The Marine Corps
Distance Learning Center has contracted with Carley Corporation
for the development of the CD-ROM and web-based ISSM course. The
Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) will provide a vehicle
for sustainment training for the Information Systems Security Concepts
Course (ISSC) currently taught at MCCES 29 Palms, CA. This distance
learning course will provide the sustainment of knowledge and skills
required for an ISSM to perform regular duties. The current resident
course is 3 weeks (120 hours) and includes coverage of case studies
to reinforce learning. The target audience for this IMI is service
members that have been out of the billet for a period of time or
that may not have the opportunity to attend resident instruction,
but who are performing the duties within the ISSM billet and who
require refresher training. The instruction will also provide future
ISSMs with preliminary training prior to attending the formal school.
The course will include 60 hours of Level II IMI, with the remaining
case studies being addressed in 20 hours of Level III interactivity.
