Ocular Driving

A vehicle driving toward a box in the middle of the road. Text: Focus on escape path. Do not focus on box.Hand/eye coordination is a powerful motor skill. When driving, you should look where you want to go, not at what you are trying to avoid.

Drivers under stress tend to focus on a negative goal (e.g., the object lying in the middle of the road).

Since it is instinct to steer in the direction that you are looking, you should always focus on a positive goal (e.g., a clear escape path next to the object lying in the middle of the road).
